Civico Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: 29.02.2022

This webcast library microsite is provided by Civico Limited. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. We do this by following the aims of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) in the following ways:

  • Change font sizes
  • Zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen .
  • Navigate part of the website using just a keyboard.

Use of Text and Images:

Where possible this site enables screen readers to read text across the site. Images are not used in place of text and those images that are used have alternative alt text files. This enables people with sight impairment to hear what an image might represent. A reactive page design means screen text can be made larger or smaller without affecting the content or function of the page or site when accessed in common web browsers.

Colour Scheme:

The colour design of this site avoids low contrast that might make it difficult for some people to view site content and colour is not used to convey information.

Document Links:

To assist people to clearly read and understand the content and purpose of embedded document links text sizes can be increased without the text spilling off the screen. Document links have a clear description followed by the file type and size. And all documents are available in an accessible version of Word, Excel or PDF etc.

Site Navigation:

As people who use keyboard-only or voice-only controls would have difficulty accessing parts of the website that rely on a mouse click the site has been designed to be intuitive and simple to navigate. This is to make it as easy as possible for people to find what they are looking for and includes search and jump-to site tools.

Page Times and Animation Content:

As some people can be disorientated by sudden page changes whilst viewing a web page, this site optimises page-loading times and does not use intense motion graphics, animations or intense screen elements.

Our commitment to accessibility is to continuous review this site to improve and add new accessibility features. It is also to design WCAG’s guidelines into the development of this site.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

These final parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • Video streams do not provide closed captions; or alternative audio tracks with more detail for visually impaired users.

What to do if you cannot access parts of this website?

If you cannot access parts of this website please email the Civico accessibility team lead Richard Wallman which is responsible for dealing with our continuous accessibility development programme [email protected]
